Abstract

An algorithm for studying stresses near curvilinear cracks in an anisotropic strip is developed, which is based on the method of singular integral equations. The kernels of the integral equations are written on the basis of a Green’s-type solution, so the boundary conditions on the rectilinear boundaries of the strip are fulfilled identically. Green’s solution is obtained for isolated and periodically placed cracks. Stresses in composite strips with cracks under the action of tension, pure bending, three-point bending and concentrated forces are determined.
