Abstract

The energy of tribosystems is studied from the standpoint of structural-energy theory and the universal phenomenon of structural adaptability. The general regularities of tribotech­nical in­teraction were found and the characteristics of mechanical and thermodynamic pro­cesses were detrmined. When considering the energy relations of tribo­technical parame­ters, based on generally accepted ideas about thermodynamic rela­tions, it is advisable to consider the energy pro­cess under conditions of plastic deformation as a competition of two interrelated trends. Thus, the energy associated with damage and thermal strengthe­ning initiates the fracture of the surface layer of tribosystems.
