Abstract

A tribological analysis of the contact interaction between a cam and a flat pusher in a cam-driven vibration exciter with an elastically attached oscillating mass is presented. The normal force was calculated as a function of the cam profile curvature radius, which is im¬portant for determining its pre-shock operating modes. Uneven cam wear was identified during rapid lift and drop sections. It is shown that the choice of spring preload prevents the flat pusher detachment from the cam surface.
