Abstract

A mathematical model of crack healing in a transversely isotropic cylinder subjected to torsional deformation has been constructed. The problem is reduced to solving the integral equation with respect to the displacements of the crack surfaces. For the case when the crack is filled in the entire volume, an exact analytical solution of the corresponding integral equation is obtained. The effectiveness of cylinder strengthening depending on the geometric parameters of the crack and the mechanical characteristics of the injection material after solidification are determined.
