Abstract

Corrosion resistance of titanium and its alloys in sodium chloride solutions of various concentrations was investigated. The influence of cavitation-erosion wear on the mechanical and electrochemical properties of the studied materials was found. The corrosion rate and wear resistance of metals in neutral and aggressive environments were assessed using potentiodynamic testing and corrosion tests. The results of the study indicate the feasibility of using titanium alloys in the production of equipment for the food industry and other industries operating in corrosive environments.
