Abstract

The effect of polyetherguanidine urethane modified with an alkyl-substituted oligomer, having the properties of an inhibitor of microbial metal corrosion, on hydrocarbon-oxidizing bacteria, destroyers of protective materials, was studied. A mesh composite was obtained, containing a bi- and tri-functional polyether, oligoepoxide, isocyanate adduct and solvent. Microbiological studies showed that the number of hydrocarbon-oxidizing bacteria during the 90 day experiment was by 2–4 orders of magnitude lower in the presence of polyetherguanidine urethane with a corrosion inhibitor than without it. It was shown that under the action of an alkyl-substituted oligomer, the enzymatic activity of heterotrophic bacteria decreased in 1.4–2.8 times relative to the activity in the presence of polyetherguanidine urethane in the medium. The corrosion inhibitor in the composition of polyetherguanidine urethane reduced the percentage of material fracture. The results of determining the physicomechanical properties of guanidine-containing polymers after the action of aggressive strains correlate with the data of IR spectroscopy. The method of thermogravimetric analysis demonstrated that the composition of polyetherguanidine urethane with an alkyl-substituted oligomer did not lose its properties after the action of hydrocarbon-oxidizing bacteria.
